Education provision is governed by a legal framework based on directives and decrees of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and the basic laws of the State. Free access to school is provided for all boys and girls and education is compulsory till grade 10 in Oman.<\/p>\n<p>The vision of the MOE calls for improving the educational environment for management, teachers, and students at school in a manner that ensures cooperation to build a good, working, and loyal generation capable of continuous learning, coexisting with others and fulfilling the labor market requirements with commitment and sense of responsibility, in order to accomplish its mission in preparing a generation that can achieve economic and social development for the society.<\/p>\n<p>Education has witnessed a qualitative leap in terms of quantity and quality. While in 1970, there were only 900 students in three schools, now there are 579024 students in 1125 government\/public schools and 105680 students in 636 private schools by 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Oman&#8217;s education enrollment levels are similar to those of other countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In particular, girls in Oman achieve high levels of completion of higher education, equal to those in countries with high levels of performance in this area, such as Singapore and South Korea (MOE&amp;
